On the 12th of January 2023, iZeno, alongside our partner, Atlassian, Elastic and Red Hat hosted an event in Singapore.

The theme of this event was “Supercharge your AIOps in 2023 with Atlassian, Elastic and Red Hat” The objective of this sharing session was to allow participants to explore what AIOps are, why they need AIOps as part of their observability strategy, how AIOps drive businesses value for an organization and what are the use cases and trends will AIOps be able to handle in the future.

Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations (or AIOps for short) continues to be a hot topic among developers, SREs, and DevOps professionals. The case for AIOps is especially crucial given the expansive nature of today’s observability efforts across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Artificial Intelligence and Operational excellence are top priorities for CEOs in 2023 because they can deliver faster digital dividends during a tighter economy.

The event opened with Chidambaram Muthupalaniappan, Principal Solution Architect, ASEAN from Elastic, Muhammad Fahad, Senior Project Manager from iZeno and Anthony Lin, Associate Principal Specialist Solution Architect from Red Hat.

Chidambaram begins his presentation by highlighting what AIOps is and the insights of AIOps and Observability. He also emphasised that Elastic is a search company which focuses on speed, scale and relevance in everything they do. He also briefed us on their three leading solutions, including Enterprise Search, Observability, and Security, which they commit in order to deliver relevant results in real-time – irrespective of how much data they have. He also shared more on the service insight, machine learning and investigation by explaining the anomalies in context, smart baselines, root cause analysis, log analytics, timeline investigation and alert management. Besides, he also covered the roadmap, which includes the dedicated observability rules view, dedicated observability alerts view, alert details, observability cases view, and alerting rules. He ends his presentation by highlighting the words from market research- Elastic was named a Strong Performer in The Forrester Wave™: AIOps, Q4 2022, Elastic was recognized as a Leader in the 2022 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Insight Engines, and Elastic was named a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: Security Analytics Platforms, Q4 2022.

Muhammad Fahad, our Senior Project Manager, started his presentation by explaining the differences between traditional and modern IT Operations. He further explained that today’s ITSM tools, designed for modern IT, provide flexible options to users and IT teams to respond, which ultimately minimizes downtime, trusted support, and happy teams. Besides that, he also highlighted incident management and the purpose of this practice which is to minimize the negative impact of incidents by restoring normal service operations as quickly as possible. He also shared his knowledge of change enablement, which includes the challenges of change enablement and how to improve the flow of changes by utilizing the risk assessment engine in Atlassian’s Jira Service Management. He also further added that Atlassian believes that change management needs to evolve to be more efficient and adaptable to meet modern needs. Instead of a “one-size-fits-all” approach, pre-approvals and automation can provide more speed and flexibility without compromising on risk.

He covered Atlassian Analytics on how with Atlassian Analytics,  we can unlock holistic visibility across systems, teams, and projects to speed up data-driven decision-making at all levels. He ends his presentation by emphasizing that customers who use Jira Service Management have been able to prove their business value from day one.

  • They gain, on average, 246% ROI by switching from legacy ITSM tools – through pure licensing costs, saving on costly implementation fees, instead of paying for features they don’t use.
  • They see a greater time to value. With ease of use and teams that are already familiar with Jira, you can cut down average implementation time to 2 months.
  • Finally, users and agents see productivity gains through flexible and intuitive workflows that integrate across dev, support and operations teams.

He also mentioned that Atlassian is a Leader in the 2022 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for IT Service Management Platforms, and for two consecutive years, Atlassian has been recognized by Forrester as Leader in ESM strategy.

The final sharing session was conducted by Anthony Lin, an Associate Principal Specialist Solution Architect at Red Hat ASEAN who shared more on the importance of Automation to go faster, enable self-service and integrate. He briefed us on what is AIOps and why automation is required. Furthermore, he also explained to leverage off AIOps to predict, and proactively solve alerts before becoming incidents, to embrace modern, high-velocity ITSM practices, to automate where you can, streamline where you can’t and adopt an open culture of knowledge sharing, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
